HOMEWORK POLICY
This year the grading guidelines state that homework each 9 weeks will count as 1 daily grade. Daily grades are worth 40% of students overall average. Students will typically have 8 weeks of homework in a 9 week grading period. These 8 weeks of homework will only count and be listed as 1 daily grade. Students will have many other assignments in the daily grade category, but again, homework will only be listed as one grade.
In order for you to see your child’s current homework grade, the grade will be entered differently into the gradebook. Homework is typically 16 questions long. After week one, you will see a homework grade that is listed as 8/16, 9/16, 16/16, depending on what your student earns. A 16/16 is a 100!
If you sign up for gradebook alerts, you might get an alert saying your child earned a 16 on homework. Remember, this may mean they received 16/16. The second week we complete homework, I will change the total number of points to 28, and add your students points from the second week to the points they earned the first week.
I know this is a bit confusing, so if you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I felt that this would be the best way for you to keep up with your child’s homework grade, rather than entering one grade at the end of the 9 weeks.
